FISA stands for “Foreign Intel Surveillance Act” and is part of a provision of the Patriot Act which allows for certain agencies to obtain personal records in an unconstitutional way. These agencies are allowed to gain an approval through the FISA court without the knowledge or decision of the United States Congress, Supreme Court, or American public.
Many see this FISA court as a “secret court” because its powers are to the point where it is almost a parallel Supreme Court.
